The same gold market, different local rules

XAUUSD is one global market: a trader in Lagos, London and Kuala Lumpur sees the same price. What changes from country to country is who is allowed to offer it, how much leverage is permitted, how profits are taxed and what time the busy sessions fall on your clock.

Every guide follows the same structure, so you can compare countries easily: legal routes to gold, the regulator and how to check a firm, leverage, tax basics (always confirm with a licensed adviser), the best hours in local time, and a safe first-steps checklist.

We never recommend brokers or prop firms. Laws and tax rules change; always confirm with your regulator and a licensed tax adviser before you trade.

Frequently asked questions

Is gold trading legal in my country?

It depends on the product and on who offers it. In most countries trading gold through a locally regulated firm is legal, but some products (for example spot gold CFDs for US retail traders, or overseas forex platforms in India) are restricted. Each country guide explains the local rules and links to the official regulator.

What is the best time to trade gold in my country?

Gold is usually most active during the London and New York overlap, when US data is released. The cards on this page show that window in each country’s local time for today. Use our gold market hours tool for any other time zone.

How do I check if a broker is regulated?

Search the firm’s exact legal name and license number on the regulator’s official register (FCA, ASIC, MAS, FSCA and so on), check that the website domain matches the register entry, and be wary of firms that are only registered offshore. Never rely on a logo or a screenshot.

My country isn't listed. What should I do?

Start with our general guides: what is XAUUSD, best time to trade gold worldwide and the free Gold Trading Academy. Then look up your national securities or financial regulator. We are adding more countries over time.

Does XAUUSD Global recommend brokers?

No. We never name, rank or recommend brokers or prop firms, and we take no affiliate fees. Our guides show you what to check so you can make your own decision.
