How the downloads work together
Each file covers one step of a simple trading process. Used together, they turn a strategy into a routine you can measure:
- Write the rules once. Fill in the trading plan template: your sessions, two setups, risk per trade, daily and weekly stops and news rules. Our guide on how to build a XAUUSD trading plan walks through each section.
- Read the chart with the same definitions every time. Keep the candlestick and chart pattern cheat sheets next to the screen, so a pattern means the same thing on Monday as on Friday.
- Check before you click. Run the ten checks on the pre-trade checklist and size the trade with the position size calculator.
- Record and review. Log every trade in the journal spreadsheet, then check expectancy and drawdown each weekend with the expectancy calculator.

Are these gold trading downloads free?
Yes. All five files on this page download straight away with no sign-up, email or payment. Only the Gold Trading Starter Kit is sent by email, because it comes with the free weekly Gold Week Ahead newsletter.
Which download should a beginner start with?
The trading plan template and the pre-trade checklist. Fill in the plan, practise it on a demo account, run the checklist before every demo trade and log each one in the journal spreadsheet. Add the cheat sheets when you study candles and chart patterns.
Can I edit the files?
The trading plan template comes as an editable Word file and the journal as an Excel spreadsheet that also works in Google Sheets. The cheat sheets and checklist are PDFs designed to print.
Do the files contain trading signals?
No. XAUUSD Global is education only. The files help you plan, check, record and review your own trades; they never tell you what to buy or sell.
Can I share the files?
