Free gold trading courses: 4 structured paths

A 30-day beginner course, an SMC and ICT path, a scalping path and a risk management path, each built from our free XAUUSD lessons in the order that makes sense, with practice tasks, calculators, honest test results and a progress tracker.

These free gold trading courses turn the 51 lessons of the Gold Trading Academy into four goal-based paths for XAUUSD traders. Pick the one that matches where you are: the 30-day beginner course if you're starting out, risk management if you already trade, then SMC and ICT or scalping depending on your style. Each course lists its lessons in order with a short practice task, links the guides and calculators that belong with them, and saves your ticks in your browser. No sign-up, no fees, no signals.

Which gold trading course should you take first?

New to trading? Take the 30-day beginner course. It covers what XAUUSD is, market hours, spreads, lot sizes, chart reading and one complete strategy, then a month of demo practice with a journal.

Already trading? Take the risk management course first, whatever your strategy. Position sizing, drawdown maths and daily limits decide whether you survive long enough for a strategy to work.

Interested in Smart Money or ICT? The SMC and ICT course teaches structure, liquidity, order blocks, fair value gaps, premium and discount, killzones and power of three in order, then shows what our tests of the Judas swing, Turtle Soup and CRT found.

Thinking about scalping? The scalping course starts with sessions, execution and costs, because our tests of simple 1, 5 and 15-minute strategies on gold all lost money after costs.

How the courses relate to the academy and the certificate

The academy is the complete library: 51 lessons from beginner to pro, in one recommended order, each ending with a five-question quiz. The courses are shorter routes through that library for a specific goal, with the extra pages that belong beside each lesson: problem fixes, strategies tested on real data and free calculators.

Quizzes work the same way everywhere. Pass a lesson's quiz (4 of 5) and it is marked complete on the academy's learning path and ticked in every course that includes it. Pass all 51 and the free XAUUSD Foundations certificate unlocks. It is self-study recognition, not a regulated qualification.

How progress tracking works

Each course has a checkbox for every step (or every day, in the beginner course) and shows how many you've done. Ticks are stored in your browser's local storage on this device; nothing is sent to us and there's no account to create. If your browser blocks storage, the courses still work; the ticks just won't be remembered.

Be honest about the effort

Each course takes real time: about an hour a day for the beginner course, and several weeks of chart work for SMC and ICT or scalping. Reading is the easy part. The practice tasks, the demo trades and the journal are where the learning happens, and even then, no course can promise profits. Leveraged gold trading carries a high risk of loss.

Practise with other gold traders

Inside the XAUUSD Global community, pods of 5 to 8 traders meet at stand-ups before London and New York and review each other's trades. Bring your course tasks there for feedback. The first month is free, then $19.99 a month.

Frequently asked questions

Are these gold trading courses really free?

Yes. All four courses, every lesson, quiz, calculator and the certificate are free, with no sign-up or email needed. The XAUUSD Global community is a separate, optional membership: first month free, then $19.99 a month.

Which gold trading course should I start with?

If you’re new to trading, start with the 30-day beginner course. If you already trade, take the risk management course first; it applies to every strategy. Then choose the SMC and ICT course or the scalping course depending on your style and the hours you have.

How are the courses different from the Gold Trading Academy?

The academy is the full library of 51 lessons in one recommended order, beginner to pro. A course is a shorter, goal-based path through some of those lessons, with the guides, problem fixes, tested-strategy results and calculators that belong next to them, plus practice tasks.

Do I get a certificate for completing a course?

Courses don’t issue their own certificate. The lesson quizzes inside each course count toward the free XAUUSD Foundations certificate, which unlocks when all 51 academy lessons are passed. It is a self-study certificate, not a regulated or accredited qualification.

How is my progress saved?

In your browser’s local storage, on this device only. Nothing is sent to us and there is no account. Passing a lesson quiz ticks that lesson in every course that includes it. Clearing site data, or switching browser or device, starts the tracker again.

Will a course make me a profitable gold trader?

No course can promise that. These courses teach the concepts, the maths and a process for testing and practising safely. Results depend on a tested plan, consistent execution and risk control over many trades. Most people who trade leveraged products lose money.
