What is the Gold Lab?

The five games
- Gold Time Machine: gold's close on any day since September 2000, what happened next, and $1,000 then versus now, before and after US inflation.
- Goldle: one daily call on the next close, scored from the real published COMEX close, with streaks and accuracy.
- Chart Replay: 10 real FOMC, NFP and CPI days in hourly candles; call the release candle, the next hour and the close.
- The Gold Trader Test: 20 timed questions from the Gold Trading Academy, with a level from Apprentice to Pro.
- Which Gold Trader Are You?: ten questions, one of six styles, and the free course, tools and session times that fit.
Real data, honest labels
Prices come from COMEX gold futures (GC=F) via Yahoo Finance: daily closes updated every hour (latest data 2026-10-31) and hourly candles for the replays. Event days come from our data studies, inflation from the US CPI (FRED) and the questions from our lesson quizzes. Nothing is invented: if the data does not say it, the game does not show it.
These are games for learning, not signals. They are a fun way to get a feel for gold's daily swings, how FOMC, CPI and NFP days behave and what you still need to study. When you trade for real, plan the risk first with the position size calculator and the rest of our free tools.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Gold Lab really free?
Yes. Every game is free, needs no sign-up and runs in your browser. Your streaks and scores are saved on your own device, not on our servers.
Are the games based on real gold prices?
Yes. The Time Machine and Goldle use COMEX gold futures daily closes since August 2000, Chart Replay uses real hourly candles from real Fed, NFP and CPI days, and the Trader Test uses the questions from our academy lessons. Each game names its source.
Will the games help me predict the gold price?
No. They are games for learning: they build intuition for how big gold’s moves are, how news days behave and what you know. None of them is a signal, and past prices do not predict future prices.
How do streaks work if I switch phone or browser?
They start again. Without accounts, everything lives in the browser you played in. Clearing site data or using a private window also resets them.
Which game should I start with?
Try Goldle for a ten-second daily habit, Chart Replay to see how real event days unfold, or Which Gold Trader Are You? if you are still choosing a style.
