Candlesticks
Location first, pattern second: a candle only matters where it forms.
PDFTwelve one-page notes in a hand-drawn notebook style: a sketch diagram, the key points, how traders use the idea and the mistakes to avoid. Print them or save them as PDF.
These free printable study notes condense twelve core gold trading concepts onto one page each. Every note has a hand-drawn sketch, the definition in plain English, the points that matter on XAUUSD, how traders apply the idea, the common mistakes and one highlighted key line to remember. They are revision sheets for the free lessons and the School of Gold, not replacements for them. Education only, no signals.
Location first, pattern second: a candle only matters where it forms.
PDFZones, not lines. The stop goes beyond the zone, never inside it.
PDFTrend = HH + HL (or LH + LL). The first break against it is a warning, not a signal.
PDFCandle 1's wick to candle 3's wick is the gap. The CE is its 50% line.
PDFThe last opposite candle before the impulse that broke structure.
PDFThrough the level, back inside, then a structure shift. No close back inside = no sweep.
PDFThe chart sets the stop. The stop sets the size.
PDFStop = where you are wrong + a buffer. Then size the trade to fit it.
PDFA win rate means nothing without R. Break-even win rate = 1 ÷ (1 + R).
PDFPick one session you can really sit for, and trade only that.
PDFSurprise versus expectations, then yields and the dollar, then gold. Let the dust settle.
PDFIf you have to talk yourself into a trade, it isn't your trade.
PDFOpen a note and press Print / save as PDF. Your browser's print window opens with only the note on the page. Choose your printer, or choose “Save as PDF” as the destination to keep a copy on your phone or computer. Keep “Background graphics” switched on if you want the paper lines and highlights. Where a ready-made PDF exists, the note also has a direct download button.
Read the lesson linked from the note, then print the note and redraw its sketch on a real gold chart from the last few weeks. Mark one example that worked and one that failed. Revisit the note before each session for a week; after that, the key line should come to mind on its own when you see the pattern. The notes follow the four stages of the School of Gold, so you can print the set for the stage you are on.
The downloads page has the candlestick and chart pattern cheat sheets, a trading plan template, a journal spreadsheet and a pre-trade checklist. For the habits behind good execution, see the trading psychology hub.
