Fair Value Gap on Gold: Gap Filled, Then +$100
The fair value gap explained on a real gold example from 3-4 November 2026: a big green candle, the gap between candle one's high and candle three's low, the return into the gap, then entry, stop under the gap and target.
Key points
The gap (1H, UTC): on Tue 3 Nov the 12:00 candle rose $26.8 ($3,915.6 to $3,942.4). The 11:00 high ($3,919.4) and the 13:00 low ($3,937.2) left a $17.80 fair value gap.
Return: the 15:00 candle traded back into the gap ($3,933.0) and the deepest dip, at 20:00, held at $3,927.2, above the bottom of the gap.
Entry at the top of the gap ($3,937) with a stop under it ($3,917) risks $20; a target just under Tuesday’s $3,981.7 high at $3,980 gives about 2.1R. The Wed 4 Nov 05:00 candle reached $4,020.3 and the 06:00 candle $4,038.1.
A past example for education, not a signal. Not every gap holds, which is why the stop sits under the gap.
Chart data: COMEX gold futures 1-hour OHLC (UTC), 3-4 Nov 2026. Education only, not a signal.
