This free gold chart patterns cheat sheet is a 4-page PDF you can download now without signing up. It draws 16 classic patterns, head and shoulders, double tops and bottoms, rising and falling wedges, three kinds of triangle, flags, pennants, channels, the rectangle range and the cup and handle, and marks where the trade is triggered, where the stop goes and how the measured-move target is projected. Each card adds one note on how the pattern tends to behave on XAUUSD, so you know what to watch for around sessions, round numbers and US data.
What's inside
- Page 1: the logic. How to read each drawing, the measured-move rule (target = breakout level plus or minus the pattern height), three entry types, where stops belong, and why printed pattern win rates don't transfer to gold.
- Page 2: reversal patterns. Head and shoulders, inverse head and shoulders, double top, double bottom, rising wedge and falling wedge.
- Page 3: continuation patterns. Ascending, descending and symmetrical triangles, bull flag, bear flag and pennant.
- Page 4: trends, ranges and bases. Rising and falling channels, the rectangle range and the cup and handle, plus gold-specific checks before trading any breakout.
How to use it
- Find the pattern on H1 to D1 and draw its lines exactly as the card shows, before price breaks out.
- Measure the height (H) and project the target from the breakout level. If the target is not clearly further away than the stop, skip it.
- Wait for a candle close beyond the line, or for the retest, and check the economic calendar before entering.
- Put the stop where the card says the pattern is wrong, add the spread, and size the trade from that distance.
- If price closes back inside the pattern, accept the failure. A failed pattern is information, not a reason to widen the stop.

Frequently asked questions
Is the chart patterns PDF free to download?
Yes. It is a free 4-page PDF with no sign-up, email or payment. Click the download button and it saves or opens straight away.
Which chart patterns are included?
Sixteen: head and shoulders, inverse head and shoulders, double top, double bottom, rising wedge, falling wedge, ascending, descending and symmetrical triangles, bull flag, bear flag, pennant, rising channel, falling channel, rectangle (range) and cup and handle.
How do I calculate a chart pattern target?
Use the measured move: measure the pattern’s height (for example from the head to the neckline), then add it to the breakout level for a bullish pattern or subtract it for a bearish one. Treat it as a guide for reward-to-risk, not a promise.
Where should the stop go on a chart pattern trade?
Where the pattern is proven wrong: beyond the last swing inside it, such as the right shoulder, the handle low or the far side of a flag, plus the spread and a small buffer. Then size the position from that distance.
How is this different from the chart patterns cheat sheet lesson?
The lesson is a web page with 12 patterns in a table and a longer explanation of the statistics. The PDF adds four patterns, draws each one with its entry, stop and target, and is laid out to print.
Do chart patterns work on XAUUSD?
Gold prints all the classic patterns, but no pattern works every time, and published success rates come from other markets. Use the patterns to plan entries, stops and targets, then measure your own results in a journal.
