5. What traders watch this week a checklist
- Where is price against the weekly pivot P ($3,936.0)? Above it, traders treat R1 ($4,015.1) as the next reference; below it, S1 ($3,797.2).
- Mark last week’s high ($4,074.7) and low ($3,856.8). A clean break and hold beyond either often changes the week’s character.
- Note when the high-impact releases land in your time zone: US midterm election results (), US jobs report (). Decide in advance whether you stay flat through them.
- Size every trade for a normal week: the typical weekly range is $192.8 and the 14-day average daily range is $73.3. A stop inside the normal daily noise gets hit often.
- Watch the US dollar index and the 10-year yield on the scoreboard: gold has usually moved against both, but the link changes over time, so check the correlation column.
- Write the plan before the session (level, reason, stop, size) and skip trades that are not on it.
